Rensselaer is an old community that got big enough to absorb a few surrounding communities before it was incorporated in 1897. This 3.3-square mile city is the perfect combination of country living and modern technology, though the trees aren't made of solar panels just yet. Located on the Hudson River across from Albany, Rensselaer is a collection of communities sprinkled generously with small forests.
Moving to Rensselaer
You might be looking to buy a home, but you can always rent an apartment while you wait. Once you see some of the city apartments in Rensselaer, you might decide life is more comfortable in a one-bedroom apartment than in a home where you have to do your own maintenance. No matter what kind of rental home you want, be sure you come ready to apply when you start your search. For a rental application, you'll need personal and financial documents like bank statements, pay stubs and copies of your IDs. So gather them up and head out on your hunt. There are actually fewer people living here now than there were when the town was incorporated, which means it's pretty easy to find a place to live. You pretty much have to hate life in general in order to not enjoy living in this area, whether you want a one-bedroom apartment, are interested in the two-bedroom apartments for rent, or prefer a loft or townhouse.
